Dr. Greg Johnson, Director of Early Childhood and Special Services at LTEC
Welcome to Liggett Trail Education Center! Home to the Blue Springs School District Early Childhood Programs and Multi-Disabled Program!
My name is Dr. Greg Johnson, and I am extremely grateful to serve at Liggett Trail Education Center! Most recently, I have been a building principal in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District. Prior to my Lee’s Summit educational experience, I was a teacher, coach and principal in the Blue Springs School District for 19 years. I am super excited to return home!
As an Assistant Principal in the Blue Springs School District, I served the staff, students and families at the Special Services Center. At that time, the BSSD and our supportive Blue Springs Community had passed a successful Bond campaign to build Liggett Trail Education Center. The Director at that time was Mrs. Patty Mohn, and I was able to help support the design process of LTEC. I am so grateful to be able to return to LTEC and serve as Director of Early Childhood and Special Services in the BSSD!
I am a graduate of Blue Springs High School, and my family are dedicated supporters of the BSSD. My mom, Andrea, is a retired first grade teacher from William Bryant Elementary. My sister, Amy, is a Speech Therapist at William Yates Elementary. My wife, Jenny, was the Art Teacher at Delta Woods Middle School. We love the BSSD!
We have an outstanding Special Services Staff and Early Childhood Staff at Liggett Trail! We are committed to providing services and support to infants all the way through age 21! Parents As Teachers is a wonderful program focused on supporting our parents and early learners. Cub Care has been at Hall McCarter Education Center for the past several years. We are excited to welcome Cub Care to Liggett Trail Education Center during the Winter of 2021! The Early Childhood Special Services Team and the Multi-Disabled team work tirelessly to support our young learners and their families. We are a dedicated staff, in an outstanding school district, committed and humbled to serve!
Outside of school, I am a blessed, proud father of three awesome kids! Brock, Bryce, and Mary Kate. The MVP of the family is my wife Jenny. She teaches Art at Lee’s Summit West High School. I love the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs!
I am looking forward to an AWESOME school year!
Most sincerely,
Dr. Johnson
